Allghoi khorkhoi: the mongolian death worm

Allghoi Khorkhoi

A few years ago I red a book called “Criptozoología” by José G. González and David Heylen. There I met the Alghoi Khorkhoi a cryptozooligical animal from Gobi’s Desert in Mongolia.

Before to all we must locate  where Gobi’s Desert is. In mongol, Gobi means “very large and dry” and it is a desert of 1.300.000 km2. It is a so dry desert, with no vegetation and where we could find a temperature variation of 70º between the day and night.

Alghoi Khorkhoi it is a long animal, apparently, without head and legs and very similar to a intestinal parasit. This is a criptozoologichal animal feared by mongolians, because it can to throw a venom, maybe an acid, which can kill a hourse or and a camel easily. To this we must add that it can atack at the distance with electricity.

The first investigation was from 1926, when the north-american biologist, Roy Chapman, collected a book with his experiences during his trip in the Gobi Desert in 1922. Early 90’s, Ivan Mackerle made a hard investigation, reaching the conclussion that is a soft animal, without bones and vegetarian. Maybe it is an important fact because in the places where we have testimonies we could find Cynomorium Songaricum, a plant with poisonous roots.

Which kind of animal could be? According to any biologists and chriptozoologits maybe could not be a worm and it could be a lizard or a snake, but the most strange it is hability to make an electrics shocks. Ivan Mackerle believe that it could be a lizard or a snake related to the “death snake”, a kind of snake from Papua New Guinea and Australia. This theory has two big problems: the first one is that Australia and Papua it is so far away. The second problem it’s that in the description of the Alghoi Khorkhoi it’s a no-legs animal.

Today, we don’t know anything about Alghoi Khorkhoi, it’s origin or appearance, we just have testimonies of some witnesses and some deaths of the cattle of people, in stranges circumstances.

Robert Johnson the bluesman who sold his soul to the devil

“Early this mornin’

When you knocked upon my door

Early this mornin’, uuuh

When you knocked upon my door

And I said, “Hello Satan”,

I believe it’s time to go…”

Robert Leroy was born in Mississippi in 1911. Grandson of slaves, he was born to be a laborer. Early was born his love to the blues, first with his harmonic and after with the guitar, showing a low level with the second one.

Since 1932 till his death in 1938, Robert Johnson travelled between the cities of the Mississippi’s Delta. When he arrived to a town, normally a small one, he used to play the guitar for a few coins in front of the barbershops and the restaurants. He was a poor guitar player, with a sad trajectory.

All of this was changed in a year, when he became into a reference guitar player in the blues world. People was fascinated with his music and his great technique. Everybody could not belived how he could change so much and the legends about him began.

The legend relates that in a midnight, while he played the guitar in the crossroad between the 61st and the 49th in Claksdale (Mississippi) a black and tall man appeared in front of him who asked him to his guitar. After played the same chords that Robert Johnson was playing y returned him and with the guitar, his wisdom. This is the way he sold his soul to the devil like Faust, to become in the best bluesman of all the time. In a year he became in a legend with his art and his continuous references to the devil in his songs.

This new life of success help him to had a better life, earning more money and having sex with lots of women. In 16th of August of 1938 he died in strange circumstances, maybe he paid his doubt with the devil, but the true is that he maybe died by pneumonia, syphilis or by a jelausy husband. He died at age of 27 years and just 29 songs recorded.

As a curiosity: we can find the history of Robert Johnson in the film “Crossroad” or on TV, in “Supernatural” in a episode called “Crossroad Blues

“Early this mornin’

When you knocked upon my door

Early this mornin’, uuuh

When you knocked upon my door

And I said, “Hello Satan”,

I believe it’s time to go…”

Hominids: our ancestors between us

The human being started their walking 5 millions years ago. Since the beginning, probably in West Africa, the diferents hominids were distributed around the world. We studied that we had an evolution that ended with the Homo Sapiens, but, the question is: What could be happen if, as the Celacanto, one of our ancestor had survived? Here we are going to analyze three cases of differents places around the world. Sasquatch: Has its origin in North America. Sasquacht mean “The Man of the Forest” in the language of the Canadian first setters. In 1811 we have the first testimony, when they discovered footprints in the snow. The interest in Sasquatch  was accelerated in the 50’s, after some alleged photos. The most spectacular chase was in 1924, but we knew about it in 1957: Albert Osman was “kidnapped” by a sasquacht family. He escaped because one of the sasquatch ate a can of snuff and became ill. The cryptozoologist believe that the sasquacht could be a Gigantopithecus and they can reach about the 3 meters and 300 kilos. Someone of them believe that it could be Neanderthals. The last notice that we had about the sasquacht was the analysis of any samples collected in North América. Thanks of these analysis we know that the sasquacht is a hybrid, because we have got human traces in the mitochondrial DNA. This it is possible maybe because the sample is contaminated or maybe long time ago we had a cross between sasquacht and humans, this is so important because, if we have a common ancestor we can’t hunt the sasquacht. Andara’s Bear: is a female who lives in the Picos de Europa (Spain). This female disappear when the winter arrives and appears in spring. The first tales come from 19th. Her body is similar to the Neanderthals, but we haven’t got any reminder.  We thought that we are talking about a Neanderthal because the description talks about a female with a very wide thorax, a projecting face and a poorly developed chin. Almas: in mongol mean “wild man”. We can find them in Mongolia, Caucasus and Pamir mountains. We are talking about a bipedal being of 1.95 meters, a hairy body and human face. In 1430 Hans Schiltberger pick up some histories about these creature during its captivity with the Mongol King. Another chase is from 1850, when a female, later called Zana, was captured and “domesticated”. The most spectacular case was from 1941, during the Second World War. A wild and frightened male was captured by the sovietic army. After some interrogatories, and as he couldn’t speak, they decided to shoot him under accusation of be a german spy.
